TAKE A LOOK ... AT THE BOOK!

When my brother Stephen asked me to collaborate on a memoir based on his fond memories of rock legend Lolly Vegas, the founder and frontman of the seventies band REDBONE I jumped at the chance to tell this touching tale of true friendship. I have always loved that band, and their truly iconic hit song "Come and Get Your Love" is still played on countess television shows, commercials and films including Avengers Endgame and is featured in the opening credits of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Working with my brother on this project proved to be challenging since I live on the east coast and he lives on the west coast. We found ourselves talking 10 times a day! (We usually only talk 5 times a day.) Since Lolly was not only Stephen’s best friend, but also his next door neighbor, I was privileged to get to know this lovely man and witness first hand the extraordinary bond my brother and Mr. Vegas shared. Lolly commissioned me to create the logo for his talk show he was producing. Lolly could have hired the Madison Avenue brain trust from “Mad Men” but he wanted to work with me, and I will always be eternally grateful to that generous man, and to my Italian brother who no doubt made Lolly an offer he couldn’t refuse.
